The film takes place in three nations: Switzerland, Cuba and Bosnia. In each of these three countries we accompany persons who dream of a better life elsewhere. For eight years, Rolando Colla follows three people who are trying to change their lives: a lonely shepherd retreated into the mountains of Sarajevo; a Cuban psychiatrist and hard rock fan attempting to break out of the system and a Swiss single mother determined to emigrate. A long-term study of the way people wrestle endlessly with their dreams.

A documentary about Bruno Wilkomirski’s autobiography: an acclaimed book on his childhood as a concentration camp victim which was later exposed.. The film explores how the sham came about, whereby it also seeks to gain an understanding of the protagonist and the time twenty years after the scandal.

SWITZERLAND, 2021
Hassan Kiko, a Syrian sex offender with multiple convictions, managed to escape from the Limmattal prison a good four years ago. He was freed by the warden Angela Magdici. The lovers lived on the run for five weeks - for them "the most beautiful time in their lives". The Italian police discovered and arrested them in their hideout in northern Italy. Hassan Kiko now has to spend additional time behind bars because of the escape, in addition to the sentence imposed earlier. Angela Magdici got off with a conditional prison sentence. In the meantime, the two got married in prison. The escape of the duo moved Switzerland: never before had a warden escaped with an inmate.
